So, having commented on another thread about focusing too much on cosmetics, here I am with a minimum-size front number plate (424 x 101 mm for six full-size characters) and a quandary.
Do I keep the front number plate holder (aka brick) and cut it down to size as I've read someone else has done, or do I remove it and screw the plate straight to the front bumper?
Thing is, one reason for a smaller plate is to improve the aero, and that must be better with no brick, I guess. But then again, Toyota/Subaru didn't splash out on a number plate holder for nothing (car makers watch every penny), and I must admit it does give the car a 'finished' look - Porsche seem to use a brick, of sorts, but Ferrari don't and the plate does look a bit 'tacked on'. Hmmm.
So what do people (who've hopefully not over-thought it like me) think? Please vote away.
