I've found another potential issue with the GT86, when I was in traffic today edging forward in 1st as you do, when I went to go put it in 2nd the revs stayed at about 2000 rpm for about 2 seconds whilst the clutch was in? Has anyone else experienced this?

Was the engine cold? Mine sits at 1.5krpms when it cold

Nope it was after the motorway so was nice and hot, I've done some digging and found this:

sounds plausible however mine was at a lot lower speed, virtually crawling.Edited by: Mike_89

A lot of cars jack the idle up a bit when rolling with the clutch depressed. It may be normal on the GT86.

I hope it is normal, it does drive fine otherwise.

Try driving a Honda Jazz; its DBW throttle is crazy.

It's nothing to do with DBW - old cable operated cars used to jack the idle up in this scenario too!

Has anyone else noticed this in their 86 then? I'd like some re-assurance please
