Hi All,
Just a tip,CHECK YOUR OIL REGULARLY,the engine is designed toburn oil under hard useage.Just topped up mine after 2600 miles and it had used just overa litre.The grade is 0w20 which is fully synthetic.

Thanks for the heads up, I was wondering if the on-board computer checks the oil level for you or do you have to manually check with the dip stick?

Check it with the dipstick,there is an oil warning low level light but dont wait for that to come on.

I've had tonnes of Toyotas and this one then will be first that has used any oil. I've never had to top up, ever. And, yes, I check the fluid levels every week. It would have to be 0W20. The stuff's hardly cheap.

It's also like rocking horse poo to find in petrol stations or halfords... Might have to negotiate a litre in lieu of the already included floor mats.

It is considered acceptable by Subaru for their engines to consume 1ltr of oil per 1000 miles.

Having said that my 2.5 impreza engine has never had to be topped up in 3.5 years, but I know of several that have.

I guess it's down to driving style

I have to agree - it was astonishing how much oil the 8 used and petrol at 18mpg!

Damn it, it would have to be 0w20 wouldn't it. I was hoping to get mobile 1 from costco but thats 0w40.
