has anyone experienced any particular noise under heavy braking eg. clunking, grinding etc.Braked heavily from speed today and heard a sort of grinding which repeated itself seconds later. After that self-tested by braking heavily on a quiet road 2 or 3 times and did not repeat itself. Conditions were muddy and wet. Any thoughts?

I've not had it happen to me but if i'm honest the GT86 brakes aren't the best.

Perhaps a bit of mud n' grit in the calipers, cleared after your two stops...

I would say ABS too, I've had mine working when braking hard in the wet.

It doesn't on most other cars so I'd expect the same here. It does also make a lot of noise and very easy to do on cold roads & cold tyres.
