Curious one, anyone else noticed that the forum groupings have altered recently..?

The 'Newbie', 'Groupie', 'Senior' ratings have changed and now don't seem to follow the 'points' amount as listed in the memberlist - In fact, I can't see what logic is used to determine what a member's 'rating' is.

No big deal, just wondering what had changed, Dan..?

Thanks Dan, perhaps 'GT86 Expert' could be 'GT86 Master' rather than Expert..? Depends whether an Expert is supposed to know everything about the GT86 or just post a lot..? (No offence Celica66..!)

Other thing is, the points amount listed on the 'Memberlist' is always lower than the points amount shown next to each post - Is there a delay in accumulating points posted (I'm assuming points just get added for posting more..?)

I think the point system works something like - 2 points for new topic, 1 point for reply. Then you get a couple of points for being 'Thanked' as well.

TBH I had not noticed theydidn'tmatch up so will take a look!

How about having ratings that go from say 'differ' (which is a term used for someone who hasn't got much experience to 'dori kin' which is of course 'drift king' in Japanese?


Driftworks have something like this, so might be worth a look. If you put loads in you can have a bit of fun with it and that IMO is what it's all about.


On another forum I run (which is fairly private) we based levels of expertise on 'bearding'. Bearding is a term we used for when you work on your car, which relates back to the blokes who used to look at say an engine bay and scratch their beard. Hence the term, 'bearding'. I know it's barking, but it's a laugh, so we have lots of level, here's our list:

I thanks that having Full Beard twice was deliberate, you become Full Beard when you hit 600 but then you become Satan's Bread only when you reach 666 but then you turn back to Full Beard cos you no longer 666.....its a pretty funny little easter egg type of thing that you could easily miss if you were keyboard heroing

As a supposed OWNERS club, is not inappropriate to give soemone "expert" rating when they dont even own a GT86. There a few people happy to spout opinion without even owning the car.
