Curious one, anyone else noticed that the forum groupings have altered recently..?

The 'Newbie', 'Groupie', 'Senior' ratings have changed and now don't seem to follow the 'points' amount as listed in the memberlist - In fact, I can't see what logic is used to determine what a member's 'rating' is.

No big deal, just wondering what had changed, Dan..?

It was just set on the forum defaults which seemed quite low and senior was the highest group you could get with I think 100 or 150 points.<div style=": rgb251, 251, 253; ">

<div style=": rgb251, 251, 253; ">I've changed them a bit and came up with this;
<div style=": rgb251, 251, 253; ">

<div style=": rgb251, 251, 253; ">GT86 Newbie Min. Points: 0
GT86 Groupie Min. Points: 100
GT86 Senior Min. Points: 500
GT86 Expert Min. Points: 1000

What do you think? Will need reviewing again or an extra one added in for over 2000 points maybe?

Any new name suggestions welcome

Thanks Dan, perhaps 'GT86 Expert' could be 'GT86 Master' rather than Expert..? Depends whether an Expert is supposed to know everything about the GT86 or just post a lot..? (No offence Celica66..!)

Other thing is, the points amount listed on the 'Memberlist' is always lower than the points amount shown next to each post - Is there a delay in accumulating points posted (I'm assuming points just get added for posting more..?)

I think the point system works something like - 2 points for new topic, 1 point for reply. Then you get a couple of points for being 'Thanked' as well.

TBH I had not noticed theydidn'tmatch up so will take a look!

GT86 Youngling Min. Points: 0
GT86 Padawan Min. Points: 100
GT86 Jedi Knight Min. Points: 500
GT86 Jedi Master Min. Points: 1000
GT86 Jedi Grand Master Min. Points: 2500

I'll get my cloak.

How about having ratings that go from say 'differ' (which is a term used for someone who hasn't got much experience to 'dori kin' which is of course 'drift king' in Japanese?

Driftworks have something like this, so might be worth a look. If you put loads in you can have a bit of fun with it and that IMO is what it's all about.

On another forum I run (which is fairly private) we based levels of expertise on 'bearding'. Bearding is a term we used for when you work on your car, which relates back to the blokes who used to look at say an engine bay and scratch their beard. Hence the term, 'bearding'. I know it's barking, but it's a laugh, so we have lots of level, here's our list:

Babyface 0</font>Face Fluff 25</font>5 O'Clock Shadow 50</font>Goatee 75</font>Stubble 100</font>Craig David 200</font>Chin Curtain 300</font>Beard 400</font>Uncle Albert 500</font>Full Beard 600</font>Satan's Beard 666</font>Full Beard 667</font>Fidel Castro 700</font>Brian Blessed 800</font>ZZ Top 900</font>Rubeus Hagrid 1000</font>Yeti 1100</font>Chewbacca 1200</font>Beardylocks 1300</font>Sasquatch 1500</font>Super Beard 2000</font>Turbo Beard 3000</font>Mega Beard 4000</font>Ultra Beard 5000</font>Supreme Beard 7500</font>BEARD OF BEARDS 10000</font>Your immense beard collapsed in on itself and formed a singularity 15000

Obviously I'm not saying do this, but I think it would be fun if we could come up with a more interesting theme than what the board comes with.

Just noticed Lauren, two entries for Full Beard.

Surely Stubble should come before Goatee?

I thanks that having Full Beard twice was deliberate, you become Full Beard when you hit 600 but then you become Satan's Bread only when you reach 666 but then you turn back to Full Beard cos you no longer 666.....its a pretty funny little easter egg type of thing that you could easily miss if you were keyboard heroing

LOL! Correct about the Full Beard, though my favourite is the last one:

</td></tr></t></table>Well, if someone can come up with something that's fun and relates to the car that would be cool. IIRC on the AEU86 forum, they have characters from Initial D, starting with the lower characters and moving upto Bunta and Takumi et al.

But, it needs some original thinking and it'd be good to relate to the GT86.

Free sticker to whoever comes up with the best ranking scheme?

/sorry Dan!

Don't want to get on the wrong side of Disney Corp though!

As a supposed OWNERS club, is not inappropriate to give soemone "expert" rating when they dont even own a GT86. There a few people happy to spout opinion without even owning the car.
