Anyone noticed that the interior light fades in as you approach the car and before unlocking? I move away and it fades out... A little bit of magic!

I noticed this the other day. Thought I left my phone in the car at night and went to look, as I started to peer through the window the light came on...... saved me unlocking the car and getting in. Nice little feature

Funniest bit is that it goes out again as slowly, when u walk away again without unlocking

Old thread revival I know but putting ye old wheelie bin out tonight, when I past the car I thought I'd left the light on, got to the end of the drive and it was off, approached and hey presto on it came. Only had the car 6 months! Wonder how many owners missed it? Tis truly magic

I've had mine 9 months and only noticed the other day, the new led upgrade may have made it more noticeable. It's the little things as I hope my misses doesn't say

Just reading your posts how do you set light to come on without unlocking car I am confused

No setting required. As long as you have your key in your pocket the sensor picks up your near the car and will turn the light on automatically

That's with keyless entry/smart key .. but IIRC there should be also toyobarus with convential key for some lower trims, no? At least such were mentioned in manual. Possibly such may lack this feature.

Thanks for the tip just been outside and yes light comes on as I walk near to car door and goes out when I walk away I must pay more attention in future

have you got the interior light switched to the door position? as mine is on the door open position and works, I've got the BRZ

I have, but does this feature only work at night.I was trying in daylight, then when I was leaving work it looked like it came on

I keep mine permanently right off.

Never had a flat battery so far.
