Quite a few of us are doing it. Think Celica is doing his as we speak...

Make sure you use a good high temp paint. I've heard horror stories about the paint melting and getting everywhere..

I did the calipers on my 320, looked awesome ! ( Black car, red calipers ).

Thinking of doing the same on the GT when it gets here - what colour would people suggest with Red ?

Hmmm..... am I the only one that doesn't like it?? I did it on my 1st car, but then grew up and realised it's not worth it IMO. Will lookok on a white car, I don't think it will suit many other colours at all.


Maybe I'm glad I got the grey, I like the silver calipers and think that red behind my wheels would look way too garish.

I've got some Foliatec Red Caliper Laquer. It rated up to 300C too so should od the job well.


What did you use? and how many coats did you have to apply?

I'm doing mine RED. For most colours it the best option. I ahve red alcantara too....

I wasnt sure abot uthe Red on Red but it looks good I think.

Yes I know you can put more than one pic in a post

, but for some reason it takes ages and makes it lock up! So I have had to post one at a time.

This is one of the best/cheapest mods I think you can do! love the red look on a black car.

I'll be doing mine in the next few weeks. I used Japlac on my TT and the finish was pretty good! what do you guys recommend using?

I went for the easiest to get hold of, Halfords 300 c engine enamel link.

If I'd been a bit better prepared I would probably have got a better brand but the weather was nice and Halfords were just down the road.

Unless you are intending stripping the calipers remember it is just decorative, the original paint is still underneath protecting the calipers.

I use foliatec as it 300C. Gives a lovely smooth finish. One coat is enough but I did two anyway as it very thick.

The halfords 300C stuff is ok but I've heard horror stories about the 80c caliper stuff
