Sorry is not the Gt86 as we cannot get one yet but I have something similar here - FR Lay out, 50/50 balance 2 doors sports car -

Ok we are not going to bored you with a build thread that take 2 years, this car will be our on going R&D project and we will be keep getting update with all the parts we are going to test.


We are going to spend 2 weeks building this car as myself have already booked the trip to the Ring from the 17-19 August THIS month.


Here is some progress we got so far -


Day 1 -


putting the car up and get ready for stripping -








All this will be coming off -








Getting stripped








Rear Subframe and Crash bar out



New subframe from 06 car with seam welded and powder coat -








Test fit new Bumper





More stripping -





Engine supporting by engine stand as the Front subframe is coming out -

Day 2


Today we have removed the Air con system, the stock radiator and derusting under the car and will apply underseal for protection.


We have also lay down most of the parts that is ready to go onto the car -








Front Subframe collars, powerflex bushes





Rear Subframe collars, Rear Diff collars, Ultra racing rear under brace





Hardrace Rear Spherical bearing damper bush -





Hardrace Rear Roll Centre adjuster -





Hardrace Steering rack reinforce bushing -





Hardrace Front Roll centre adjuster with Camber offset plate. Hardrace Spherical damper bush for front damper.





Hardrace forged drivershaft spacers, Hardrace Rear diff reinforce collars, Ultra racing rear Strut and lower subframe brace-





Powerflex Front Compliance bush with Stainless caster adjuster kit, Hardrace OEM heavy duty top ball joint and powerflex suspension arms bushes





Hardrace harden tie rods and spherical tie rod ends, powerflex ARB bush





Ultra racing Front subframe 6 points brace with rear subframe 4 point brace.





Ultra Racing Chassis brace -



Front we have Mishimoto Radiator with Fan, Mocal Oil cooler, AP Racing cailper with Dixcel FCR Slot disk and Dixcel Type RA front pad.





AP Racing caliper with Dixcel disk and pad -





AP Racing Brake Bias





Hardrace rear Toe arm, Dixcel Rear FCR Plain disk, Volk CE28 with AD08, Nitrons, Hardrace RCA and Hardrace OEM heavy duty top ball joint





Hardrace Heavy duty top arm ball joint -





Seam welded Front subframe fitting with Subframe collar, Steering rack bush kit





Password JDM Dry carbon heat shield





4.4 final drive





Main set of wheel Volk CE28 with AD08





Spare set of wheel, Work Emotion with AD08

Even though it's not a GT86 or a variation of,it'll be interesting to see how this turns out! Are you looking to do a GT86 in the future?

Here is some update on Day 3, nothing much today as we had an original James Bond car(yes the actual car in the movie) came in today to sort out the Geometry.





If you wanna see more of this car you can see all photos here, the whole interior is like brand new and only 30K miles on the clock, I was lucky enough that the owner let me take it out for a drive. It was like a dream come true for me - https://www.facebook.com/DixonMotorsports

Day 4, all the suspension arms, bushes, subframe is going back into the car.


Front subframe in -

Update for Day 5, not much went in today as we had a busy morning.


ARP Extended studs ready to go in as we will be running 5mm spacers to clear the AP Caliper





Steering Rack now fitted with Reinforced rack bushing to stop any excess movement underload.





Steering rack back in with Hardrace Front Anti bump steer kit that help to bring the front Toe arm to original position after lowered.








Front Roll centre adjuster with Camber offset for extra camber and caster and also bring the roll centre back to the factory position after lowered





Hubs all back in with extended studs, Nitrons and RCA








Rear Arms all back in with all new bush, new top hardrace heavy duty ball joint and Nitrons -





Gonna have a busy morning tomorrow, hopefully we can get some time to work on the car.
