Hello all,
A little birdie PM'd us and asked that we join this new forum, so I just have.
I am a confirmed '86 nut, but of the older generation... Recently sold my mad full race tuned AE86 to an equally mad customer in the UK, because I'm at the finishing stages of putting together a wilder fully seam welded lighweight full N2 / hillclimb spec race car, but I won't bore you guys with the details just now.
Too hot in Japan to work on it during my spare time right now, so it's wrapped up & covered till October...
Having a 15 + year presence in Japan and long time connections / friendships with some of the original AE86 tuners (Who are now moving into FT86 tuning & racing
) we will be able to supply all sorts of new performance & cosmetic parts direct to members here who want to make their cars special with authentic JDM parts. That includes stuff like RAYS wheels, etc. but we also have containers coming to the UK each month, so can send larger stuff like body kits all at low carriage cost.
Personally, I'd like to see the FT86 become as iconic as the original AE86, if not more.
Toyota put a lot of effort into making this car, against the odds in a very downward market so I'd like to see their gamble proven to be a successful formula.
As for getting one myself, perhaps in a few years. Trouble is it's not really a family car and 4 into an FT86 won't go very well) and I have too much invested in the current AE86 (Haven't even driven it yet!) to consider replacing it.
Instead, we'll take pleasure in helping those of you who want our assistance in making your FT86 wild.
I'm Miguel, based in Japan near Tokyo, Matty is in Essex, UK.
Yoroshiku!
