The price cut means that the BRZ now costs from £23,995 in base SE Lux form. The base GT86 model comes in at £25,110, according to Toyota’s April 2014 price list.
The entry-level BRZ comes with a six-speed manual gearbox hooked up to the 197bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder boxer engine, with the base automatic version coming in at £25,495. The base GT86 auto’ comes in at £26,605.
The GT86 has just undergone a series of minor detail changes inside and out, along with some suspension revisions to improve the ride, handling steering. Neither Toyota or Subaru could confirm if the BRZ will adopt similar changes in due course.
The move is officially down to an improvement in the exchange rate between the pound and Japanese yen, Subaru’s UK importer IM Group importing its models from Japan.
