This year Toyota (Scion in the US) has organised a special competition for Sema in Las Vegas. Some specialisst in the field of sports cars were invited to create specially modified versions of the Scion FR-S , the American variant of our Toyota GT 86 , with a limit of $15,000 for customisations.
Scion has decided to allow Super Street, Speedhunters and GT Channel to create three special coupe’s that will be exhibited in the coming weeks at Sema in Las Vegas.
Super Street has thus created a Scion FR-S trim with ultra low kit to decrease the camber of the rear wheels, Wilwood brake calipers with six pistons, new alloy wheels and wide body kit for the exterior. Inside the car instead debut new Recaro sports seats, a rollcage for safety, an upgraded audio system and a steering wheel quick release is derived from racing. A yellow paint and some upgrades to the engine finally complete the installation. Even more technical interventions made by Speedhunters, the Scion FR-S earning a Cosworth supercharger and an exhaust single output. Also in this case it was decided to rollcage, sports seats, steering wheel quick release and external details such as a new front spoiler and a rear extractor.
GT Channel has decided instead to stay at home with Toyota in its modifications, using many components signed TRD. An example are the new wheel arch extensions, side skirts and headlamps. To complete the installation also installed a new carbon fiber hood, a rear, a lowered suspension and Recaro sports seats. Inevitable also a modification to the engine with a supercharger HKS GT and a sports exhaust.
