Hi there,

I’m not sure about the legality of it (who cares anyway) but I found both a video for you on “redding out your tail lights” as well as a product that you could possibly use at home to do it yourself

YouTube video on vinyl wrapping them red -
YouTube video on spraying them red -

What you do would come down to preference. On my last car I masked up the back of my car around the rear lights and used newspaper to excessively cover the bodywork just as precaution, and then I used a Smokey spray tint for my backlights which gave it a nice smoked dark tint finish that looked awesome. The more coats the darker, I assume that would be the same for red tint, make sure if you spray it to do it evenly and look up spraying methods.

Hope this helps
