As many of you know I picked up my 86 on Saturday.
The reaction among my friends and colleagues has been amusing (to me anyway).

1 The ex-wife
Went to pick one of the kids up in it to watch the footie on Sunday, her first reaction on seeing it was "Can you get both the kids in that?" - I don't know yet, i haven't tried.

2 The boss (he drives a supercharged Range Rover and a DB7)
" You f***ing tart! I suppose it'd be alright for a girl"

May add more as I get more reactions.

What reactions have you had from your friends and colleagues?

Common ones are:

"It's low, isn't it?"

"Faster than I expected!"

"Much better looking in the flesh."

Ive had most of the above, especially the low ones. The passenger seat is notably lower than the drivers even in the lowest setting.

Most of the time its 'what is it'? Still lots of people who don't know what it is.

Most of my friends are quite admirable of it. I remember me and my girlfriend gave a lift to one of our mates and his girlfriend on the way home one night. His first time in the car and he loved it. He was grinning ear to ear when we floored it and basically said "I want one!"

What's most surprising though, is the amount of attention it gets from random strangers. I've had several comments of "nice car mate!" at the petrol station, and had some people come up to talk about the car, asking what it is etc. I was even called over by the guy waiting behind me at a petrol pump and he started asking about the car, talking about modifications, etc, for a good 10 minutes or so.

No one cares about blue . Must get some stripes!

The only bit of affection I've had in public was when someone drew a heart in the filth on my wing mirror casing after a late night shopping trip, beats getting a dent in the door.

Yea. Petrol stations are always a sure bet for a conversation. Had a few. Usually that it looks the business (even in Grey ) and asking how it performs.

Old one, Dark Grey. MT. Leather. Mud Flaps, Milltek non-resonated cat back exhaust. So I\'ll sound better when I bump into stuff. HKS filter

Me and Rob met up at Toddington services before going up to the midlands meet and some guy came over and was acting very hyperactive about how awesome the cars were, asking loads of questions and taking photos B-)

Other than that, at petrol stations, as I walk back to my car I've had "OMG, that's not your car is it?" At this I feel like saying "read the bitch sign, ****!" But I politely say "yes"

I'm normally asked by my peers when I'm going to grow up and stop arsing about with cars...

All my friends seem to be getting married and having children and all I want to do is drive sportscars
