F**#? ##@/?!!!!!

****!

Was getting into the car and a few kids where scootering up and down the street. I reversed down the drive spending far too much time watch for them, I forgot to move over to the left side of the drive. When I realised, I knew I was very tight on the right, so came back a little more than normal... not far enough. Seen the post bounce off the car and stopped.

I got out hoping to find just a scrape.... and seen this.

Got a quote from a body shop. £200. Found a new indicator lens on Ebay for £23.50.

Raging.

Ouch. Looks painful for anybody who likes his car :/. Luckily quoted repair costs sound reasonable.
Though i expect that after removal of bumper (for painting) you may get bumper sagging & side indicator flimsy mounting tab problems. Construction of front bumper cover clicky mount tabs or how side indicators are mounted, seems very crappy design. For bumper - these (2 needed) might help somewhat (from subaru bulletin SB18-200E). Side indicator clips separately are here, though possibly simpler mount with ziptie.

Tough luck mate. We have all been in this situation at some point or the other.

Hope the repair is a quality job. Think easier flat than a metallic which is harder to colour match.

LOL, Hardly their fault! My fault for forgetting to move left where the driveway widens and miss judging just how close I was to the post.
