Window Seal Squeeking/Rubbing Noise

Hi All

Had my GT86 for a few months now (2016 model) and have noticed an annoying noise.

Sounds like the window squeeking/rubbing up against the b-pillar window seal when driving over bumps/rough surfaces. Only appears to happen on the drivers side (but then that is closest to my ear) and doesnt happen at all when the window is down.

Not a major issue but it's right by my ear and detracts from a feeling of 'sturdyness' from the car.

Just wanted to know if any one else has had anything similar?

Cheers

I apply "Gummi Pflege" to the seals a few times a year. It's brilliant stuff and easy to work with!

I get this aswell. I have a tube of carplan silicone grease that I smear on every now and again, though that Gummi Pflege stuff does look like a more ideal solution!

I'm another Gummi Pflege user. Got it originally for the various seals on my cabriolets, but I also use it on the GT86's seals.

It's especially useful in winter as it stops the window from freezing to the seal, with the risk of damage (either to the seal or to the window motor) when you open the door and the window tries to drop a little.

So I found some rubber care stuff I had at home and have given the seals a good going over and it seems to have stopped the noise! Will get some Gummi Pflege for future applications

Or Holts silicone & rubber lubricant.

Don't forget to do the door & boot seals now & again.

I did the boot, bonnet and door seals when I washed the cat last weekend - great minds think alike!
