Opened up my bonnet today to find this.

I'm not the most engine-savvy person, so I'm not sure if this is a leak or some strange greenish liquid accumulating.

When shipping the cars from factory to countries Toyota coat the engine components in a greenish goo to protect against rust/corrosion etc while in the ships. I take it your car is fairly new?

It's a 2015 BRZ and it only had 800 miles on it when I picked it up a few months back. It's now on about 4000 miles.

Am I good just to clean it off with some rubbing alcohol? Or should I just leave it?

No harm in leaving it, no harm in cleaning it off either. Smile

If you live near the sea, best try to find some more of that stuff :) It's anti-rust.
Just keep it pointed in the general direction you want to go

Thanks a lot guys!
I do live near the sea, so I think I'll just leave it alone.
